On Saturday 25th April, Kinross Ladies 1st XI travelled to Mayfield in Dundee to play Grove Menzieshill Ladies 2nd XI in the Midlands Knock Out Cup Final.
After winning the league and being unbeaten the ladies went out with a very positive outlook on the game despite playing a team sitting high in the league above.
The first quarter was end to end and both teams looked to be on par with one another. Kinross won a few short corners but we were unable to convert due to a very strong defensive team from Grove.
The second quarter is where it started to come together for Kinross with two well worked team goals scored by Vaila and Philippa.
Grove came back fighting after half time but the Kinross defensive was impenetrable.
Kinross won another short corner in the last five minutes of the game and Catherine scored a beautiful goal from the left.
It was a very exciting game to be a part of and Kinross looked like a well oiled team. Winning the Midlands Cup was the cherry on top of the cake that was an undefeated season! Here is to the 2026/2027 season.
