Summer Hockey

Every year the club arranges mixed hockey sessions every Tuesday evening during the summer months at the KGV pitch (usually from end of May all the way to end of August) from 7:30pm until 9pm. These are easy-going matches aimed at those that just want to have a knockabout when the weather is nicer!

Current Members

Any member who is over 13 and trains during the season in the following groups are invited to attend summer hockey:

  • Men

  • Ladies

  • Summer hockey only (those that can only play during the summer e.g. students returning from full time education)

New Members

Summer hockey is great for new members who wish to ease into the club before the season starts or simply wish to try out a new sport. For those new to hockey, we typically recommend anyone above the age of 14 can attend.

Cost

From 2026, the club will charge a one-off fee* which covers the cost of all sessions for one summer (typically around 12) and there are two categories:

  • Students in higher education (i.e. University, College) - £20

  • All others - £35

Once you have joined the group you will then be sent a payment request. Please let the club know if you are currently in full time education so the request can be amended to £20.
