Getting your pvg

Scottish Hockey Union (SHU) currently process applications to join the Protecting Vulnerable Individuals (PVG) scheme for Kinross Hockey Club electronically.  Further information on the PVG scheme can be found here: PVG scheme.  Any questions, please email the Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer (CWPO)

Please follow the steps below to start your application:

1.     Three forms of identification will be required; one of the pieces of ID must be photographic and the other two should be separate items of address related evidence, these will be checked.

·       taking photos of originals and emailing them to the CWPO (no scanned copies can be accepted)

·       video call

·       meet in person

Please see ID Checking Guidance to see a list of possible types of ID

2.     Scottish Hockey now also require a Self-declaration form which can be completed online here: Scottish Hockey Self-declaration Form

3.     The CWPO will complete the online PVG request form on your behalf and submit to SHU.

4.     Applicants will receive an email from Disclosure Scotland including the online PVG form. This must be accessed and completed within 7 days of receipt.

5.     Disclosure Scotland carry out checks and issue a certificate to the applicant. Once processed, Disclosure Scotland will email the applicant with the outcome and the option to share the result with the club - results must be shared and there is only a limited window to be able to do this.

6.     Upon receipt of your PVG membership you should email the CWPO  with a screenshot of your PVG member number and date of issue - unfortunately you can no longer download the entire certificate. This information will be stored securely and allows us to know when your membership needs updating, which SHU recommends is every 3 years.
